Q: Tell me a little bit about yourself.

A: I was born and raised in Binghamton.

_

Q: How long have you been running and how did you get started?

A: I've been running for 30 years. I started running when I was in 7 th grade when I joined the track team. In 8 th grade I decided to try the distance events and found that I preferred to run those events. So in 9 th grade I joined the cross country team at Binghamton High School and the rest is history.

_

Q: Would you rather run with a group or alone?

A: It depends on the day. I enjoy both. Group runs help make the miles go by, and is fun, but there is something about a solo run that is just as great when you can clear your head and just be.

_

Q: What is your favorite distance or race?

A: I used to think it was the marathon because that's where I always saw the most success. I loved the training and the time spent with friends on the road. But I have to say I love a good 15 K.

_

Q: How do you stay motivated when you don’t want to run?

A: I try to set a goal so I have a reason to get out the door. Plus I just feel better when I do.

_

Q: What is your favorite running memory and any goals for the future?

A: There are so many.... I would have to say either running my PR in Steamtown 2013 or breaking the tape at the Syracuse Marathon 2011. I would like to get through Boston and start hitting the track again and see if I can get a little speed back in my legs. But most importantly I would like to stay injury free so I can just keep running.

_

Q: Who inspires you most?

A: I am most inspired by the average Joe. The person who has a 9-5 and a family and still finds the time and the discipline to get out everyday and push themselves to be better.

_

Q: What advice do you have for new runners?

A: If it was easy everyone would be doing it. If you keep putting in the work you will see the rewards.
