Grand Prix - Midway Report!

With 5 races completed and 11 remaining, including the Vestal XX on June 15th, it's shaping up to be a close Grand Prix so far. The Women currently beat the Men in volunteering with 9 Women reporting their volunteering to Greg and only 5 Men! That being said, most of our current point leaders haven't submitted their Volunteer requirements yet! Make sure to volunteer and get that information to Greg to complete your Grand Prix Requirements!

NEW! We encourage everyone to head over to the Grand Prix Standings page and view our new applets hand coded by Communications Director, Raymond Fryc. These applets allow you to search results for the Grand Prix by First and/or Last Name. The applets will show you all current times and point totals, as well as your volunteer requirement and age category. It is suggested you visit this page on a desktop computer and allow the applets a minute to load. All results are tabulated by Greg Amend! If you feel there is an error in the applet or scoring, please Contact Triplecitiesrunnersclub@gmail.com and email Greg Amend.

On that Note let's breakdown your current points leaders:

Starting with your Male Veterans: Grant Briggs is currently in the lead with 2486 pts and 5 races completed followed closely by Dennis Ulig and Thomas Sedore with 2212 pts and 2034 pts, respectively, and 4 races completed! Only 400 points separate these leaders and second and third place still need to complete one more race.

In the Male Masters category: Tom Hanselman is in the lead by nearly 1000 pts. with a total of 3453 pts and 5 races completed. Behind him are Nate Mulcahy and Michael Murphy tied with 2499 pts and 4 races completed. Will Nate and Michael catch up to the "HanselBeast" before the end of the series?

In the Male Open category, mere points separate our leaders. Steve Esposito is in first with 3105 pts and Jordan Varano close behind him with 2967 pts, both with 4 races completed. In third is Wade Varano with 2402 pts and 4 races completed. With races still remaining the male Open Category is shaping up to be a very close race.

Finishing our Men is the Male Youth: Vishal Yalamanchili sits in first with 1889 pts, followed by Lucas Davis and Parker Stokes with 1416 pts and 1373 pts respectively.

Moving on to our Women, in the Female Veterans category: We have Barbara Smalls leading with 2370 pts and 5 races completed, followed by Wendy Buttner (2279 pts) and Sally Reppard (2042 pts)! Only 300 pts separate these ladies, so every race counts!

In the Female Masters category: Emily Piza-Taylor currently leads with 2565 pts. Being our only current leader to submit her volunteer requirement, Emily only has one race left to complete all requirements for the Grand Prix. Close behind Emily are Rachel Parsons (2216 pts) and Shannon Whiting (1984 pts).

Our closest current race is in the Female Open: Courtney Varano (2883 pts), Erika Frees (2825 pts), and Rachel Murphy (2805 pts) are separated by only 78 pts! Will races like the Vestal XX or the Women's Distance Festival widen the gap between these ladies?

Finally our Female Youth: Lindsey Stokes currently sits in the lead with 1380 pts followed by Ava Guillon (934 pts) and Catriona Breen (703 pts).

The next race in the Grand Prix is the Vestal XX on June 15th. Get ready to race the oldest race in the Southern Tier!
