Q: Tell me a little bit about yourself.
A: I graduated from Chenango Valley in 1964 and joined the Marine Corp. I was there from '65-'69 and spent the last nine months in Vietnam. I started a family while serving and had 5 children 3 girls and 2 boys. I am now retired from SUNY Cortland.

Q: How long have you been running and how did you get started?
A: I've been running for 40 years. I started running because I wanted to get in shape but could not afford a bike.

Q: Would you rather run with a group or alone?
A: I like to run with a group and although Trails are fun, I prefer roads.

Q: What is your favorite distance or race?
A: Loved the marathon in the days past. Now happy with 1/2 and Vestal XX.

Q: How do you stay motivated when you don’t want to run?
A: My dog keeps me motivated. He has to run.

Q: What is your favorite running memory?
A: I have many favorite memories coaching for LLS/TNT for so many years, also Wellesley Girls half way thru Boston Marathon.

Q: Who inspires you most?
A: I'm inspired by those that RUN HAPPY.

Q: What advice do you have for new runners?
A: My advice to new runners: run,walk,run,walk,run,run,run. Get the right shoe and gear and ask questions.
